*At the end of this post I will tell you my stance and political view.*

Tonight I feel overwhelmingly similar to the way one feels as they watch the count down on New Years Eve, knowing their Resolution starts the next day. Tonight, it's not the Time's Square Ball, it's the Canadian Federal Election results. The difference here is that I'm watching the counts going up, and my Revolution starts tomorrow.

I don't mean that I recommend a coup d'etat or riots in the streets. Would you believe I am not even mildly protesting the outcome of the election.

My Revolution is against ignorance, apathy, and cowardice. I am angry with myself and others for waiting for answers but not asking questions. I'm angry with the people who saw this election as hopeless or who couldn't be bothered to overcome the hurdles between them and the ballot box. I'm angry with those who vote against their heart, victims of the "anything but Harper" mentality. I have said before that it is better to be pro-one-thing than anti-the-opposite. People need to know what they believe in, not just what they don't.

I am not implying that there is anything wrong with a Conservative vote but, if Blue voters share the same docile acceptance as Red / Turquoise / Orange / Grey / Green voters -or- the mindless disregard of the 47% of eligible voters who did NOT turn out, the 142 Conservative ridings were won by a team whose fans don't even know what sport they're watching.

I feel that we as Canadians are uninformed or misinformed, under-confident and overwhelmed. My Revolution has the aim of preparing me to be a deserving inhabitant of this land.

Be brave! Vote for the party and/or representative that reflects your values, actions, and outlook. Have the courage to bear your heart in the face of defeat. (You even have the privilege of being able to keep your vote to yourself.) Don't betray what you love to escape what you fear.

Take action! Talk to your family, your friends, scholars and candidates in your riding. Engage in critical conversation. Ask questions and consider alternatives. Vote (or Run!) for what you believe. If you don't fight for your cause, you are not an underdog, you are but a dog.

Get informed! Know who is fighting for the steering wheel and where they want to take you. If you don't know or care where Canada is going on vacation, don't complain when you pack for Mexico and end up in Greenland.

It is after 2 AM. Stephen Harper is our Prime Minister. We have a Conservative minority government. Global's 2008 Election coverage is now over, making way for Entertainment Tonight. (in High Definition)

So, tomorrow, I begin my preparation for participation in the next election.

*In closing, I will now describe my stance and political view.*

I stand behind a cardboard wall, in silence. This is what I see:

Trevor Ennis - Christian Heritage Party
Rakesh Khosla - Progressive Conservative Party
Tamara Lorincz - New Democratic Party
Michael Munday - Green Party
Geoff Regan - Liberal Party

Nobody will know how I voted. The winner in my riding was the incumbent, Geoff Regan.
